I have lived in a few different places now over the last few years, they all have good and bad points – but you have to live somewhere at the end of the day.
Bangkok – lived here for 2 months – not for me! Too busy, expensive and a lot of people are working here so hard to find people to hang out with.
Koh Samui – very nice island, some great beaches and a good mix of people. I enjoyed my time living here as I had a good group of friends, but my problem was that the island feel gets to you after a while and I felt like I was getting bored of the same places and felt like I had to move on after a few months
Phuket – lived here 2 months again. It was ok, very touristy island – lots of Australian holiday makers and lots of action, but the island was too big to get around on a bike. Now that I have a car maybe it would be easier.
Hua Hin – I have been here over a year now, its pretty boring, but it does have a nightlife area but its just not very busy. In high season it gets busy, but the people who are here then are just holiday makers and not really worth me getting to know them as they will be gone in a couple of weeks. I do have a few friends here though, so for the next year, I will be here.
